Breeding Mares
Over the past few years we have been slowly building up a herd of high quality brood mares, which we believe will produce top class sport horses in the years to come. These mares have been selected throughout Europe on the strength of their own performances, that of their siblings, and even more importantly, the performances of their own progeny. In addition to these criteria, we have chosen mares with good conformation, and soundness of limb and wind. As our herd develops we have begun breeding one or two foals from some of our best three year old fillies. In this way we can continue with their sporting careers once the foals have been reared and we are free to sell the mare without losing their valuable genetics.
In selecting stallions for our mares we are careful to choose modern type sport horses with strong performance genetics. We aim to breed horses that will be first and foremost athletic, rideable and willing animals, regardless of which discipline they will go on to compete in. For 2017 we are expecting foals from Aganix de Seigneur, 2x Starpower TN, Malibu TN, Capri van Overis, Master Blue, Firkov de Rouet, Casallco, and Air Jordan Alpha Z
Viancara VDL (2002) – Acobat II x Nimmerdor
Viancara represents one of the leading performance families in Holland. Her dam Zancara is known as the mother of the Olympic KWPN stallion Bubalu VDL (s.Baloubet du Rouet), the Grand Prix-stallion Montreal VDL (s.Indoctro), Grand Prix-jumper Pessoa VDL (s.Animo), the KWPN stallion Great Pleasure (s.Grannus) and several other international jumping horses. Zancara is also a sibling to Emile Hendrix’s Grand Prix-jumper and approved stallion N-Aldato (s. Aldato). At her mare test in Holland Viancara earned a 9 for her canter and an 8 for her jumping technique.
Her offspring seem to be following in the footsteps of their illustrious relations. They are incredible movers, they have power and blood and display super reflexes over jumps. Her first born son in the UK, MGH Zabaione (2016), now owned by Di Brunsden and Peter Cattell, was winner of the 8&9yo Championship at Blenheim in 2024. At only 8yo he looks to be a star of the future. Her 2018 daughter by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve has been sold to Switzerland. She hadtwo fillies in 2019 – a Levisto Z and a Casago. The Casago filly is called MGH Prima Ballerina and in now co-owned by Trevor Breen.
Estaminka van het Gerendal (2013) – Emilion x Topas
Estaminka is a mare that we were able to acquire from Alan Waldman in 2020. She is from a top class family and is in foal to the exciting young stallion Ganesh Hero Z. Estaminka has several high performing brothers and sisters. Two of the most well known are Vimminka, who jumped 5* level with Ireland’s Alexander Butler and is already proving to be a top class breeding mare in her own right, and Agana van het Gerendal who is now reaching the top level with USA’s Lillie Keenen. Estaminka’s first foal by Aganix du Seigneur has been kept entire by his breeder Ben Verheij, and looks to have incredible quality over poles.
Fair Dinkum (2002) – Luidam x Unknown.
Successfully competed to 1.45m (Click for video). We acquired “Dolly” in 2016 and put her in foal to Firkov du Rouet. She produced fantastic son who under Danielle McCormack was 7th place in the 7yo Championship at LeLion d’Angers 2024. We have managed to retain a gelding from her by Karajan who was born in 2018 and is now owned by Paul and Clare Voller. In 2019 she bred a filly by Cevin Z,
MGH Agnes Brown (2017) – Aganix du Seigneur x Viancara VDL
Cara is the first daughter we bred from Viancara. She displayed incredible talent loose jumping, and we decided to put her directly into our breeding program. As a 4yo she bred her first foal – a colt by Stakkato Gold. She is expecting a Chinchero foal for 2022
MGH Marazion (2017) – Malibu TN x Boulebehas Diamond Girl
Malibu is a super talented filly with a lot of blood. She is in foal to Amiro Z for 2022. We will decide in the summer whether she will continue as a breeding mare or begin ridden work.
