Breeding Mares

Over the past few years we have been slowly building up a herd of high quality brood mares, which we believe will produce top class sport horses in the years to come. These mares have been selected throughout Europe on the strength of their own performances, that of their siblings, and even more importantly, the performances of their own progeny. In addition to these criteria, we have chosen mares with good conformation, and soundness of limb and wind. As our herd develops we have begun breeding one or two foals from some of our best three year old fillies. In this way we can continue with their sporting careers once the foals have been reared and we are free to sell the mare without losing their valuable genetics.

In selecting stallions for our mares we are careful to choose modern type sport horses with strong performance genetics. We aim to breed horses that will be first and foremost athletic, rideable and willing animals, regardless of which discipline they will go on to compete in. For 2017 we are expecting foals from Aganix de Seigneur, 2x Starpower TN, Malibu TN, Capri van Overis, Master Blue, Firkov de Rouet, Casallco, and Air Jordan Alpha Z

Viancara VDL (2002) – Acobat II x Nimmerdor

Viancara represents one of the leading performance families in Holland. Her dam Zancara is known as the mother of the Olympic KWPN stallion Bubalu VDL (s.Baloubet du Rouet), the Grand Prix-stallion Montreal VDL (s.Indoctro), Grand Prix-jumper Pessoa VDL (s.Animo), the KWPN stallion Great Pleasure (s.Grannus) and several other international jumping horses. Zancara is also a sibling to Emile Hendrix’s Grand Prix-jumper and approved stallion N-Aldato (s. Aldato). At her mare test in Holland Viancara earned a 9 for her canter and an 8 for her jumping technique.

Her offspring seem to be following in the footsteps of their illustrious relations. They are incredible movers, they have power and blood and display super reflexes over jumps. We have managed to hold on to her first born son in the UK (2016), and he will compete for Di Brunsden and Peter Cattell under the name MGH Zabaione. We are breeding from a 2017 daughter by Aganix du Seigneur and she is expecting a Stakkato Gold foal in 2021. Her 2018 daughter by Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve has been sold to Switzerland. We have two fillies in 2019 – a Levisto Z and a Casago. She didn’t breed a foal in 2020 and for 2021 she is expecting a foal by Komme Casall via embryo transfer.

Estaminka van het Gerendal (2013) – Emilion x Topas

Estaminka is a mare that we were able to acquire from Alan Waldman in 2020. She is from a top class family and is in foal to the exciting young stallion Ganesh Hero Z. Estaminka has several high performing brothers and sisters. Two of the  most well known are Vimminka, who jumped 5* level with Ireland’s Alexander Butler and is already proving to be a top class breeding mare in her own right, and Agana van het Gerendal who is now reaching the top level with USA’s Lillie Keenen. Estaminka’s first foal by Aganix du Seigneur has been kept entire by his breeder Ben Verheij, and looks to have incredible quality over poles.

Firaltha W (2010) – Carambole x Concorde

Firaltha W is a half-sister of the 1.60m Martin Fuchs’s Grand Prix horse Chaplin (Verdi), who won the LGCT*5 Grand Prix’s in Cascais-Estoril and Madrid in 2019 and in Mexico 2017 as well as finishing 2nd in Miami in 2017. She is in foal to the Grand Prix stallion Aristoteles V (Padinus), who earned more than 1.2 million dollar under Jonathan McCrea (USA). Aristoteles’ half-brother Fjury V (Numero Uno) performed at 1.55m level under Michel Hendrix.

Luidam and Billy Towmey

Fair Dinkum (2002) – Luidam x Unknown.

She produced fantastic son which has recently been sold to be produced for eventing under Flora Harris. We have a 3yo gelding from her by Karajan, a 2yo filly by Cevin Z, and a yearling filly by Herald III. She is not in foal at the moment, but we plan to use Herald III with her again in 2021

Me Too (2002) – Warrenstown You 2 x Animo’s Hallo

Full sister to CCI**** eventer Balham Houdini (pictured opposite) and three part sister to CCI*** eventer Fernhill Revelation

Me Too is proving to be a super breeding mare, passing on her qualities to her children. They are good jumpers, they have a lot of blood, and they love to work. Her eldest son – Speedwell – which is turning 7y/o in 2021, was purchased by Georgie Strang from us as a 3y/o and is looking like a world class horse for the future. One of her daughters is in the  stables of Nicky Hill and we still have several young stock from her to look forward to.

Boulebehas Diamond Girl (2004) – Puissance x Horos XX

Half sister to two successful event horses. “Maggie” breeds foals with size and quality and great mentalities. Her children have sold very well and recently a 5yo son by Douglas was sold to the USA through Alan Waldman and Mario Everse’s Youhorse Auction. In 2020 she bred a beautiful filly by Herald III which was sold at 2 months old. she is expecting a foal in 2021 by the young Holsteiner stallion Chincero (Chopin x Clarimo) who was reserve champion of the Holsteiner Verband stallion grading in 2020.

Ars Vivendi

MGH Agnes Brown (2017) – Aganix du Seigneur x Viancara VDL

Cara is the first daughter we bred from Viancara. She displayed incredible talent loose jumping, and we decided to put her directly into our breeding program. As a 4yo she bred her first foal – a colt by Stakkato Gold. She is expecting a Chinchero foal for 2022
